When did you begin doing CrossFit? How long have you been with 5280 CrossFit?
April of 2015. I’ve been at 5280 CrossFit for almost a year.
Why do you CrossFit?
I’ve always had the desire to be in better shape but struggled to maintain motivation when I would wander around the gym. CrossFit creates the workouts for me! I stay motivated because I feel the progress.
Are you married, single, in a relationship? Do you have any children (“furry” children included)?
I’ve been married for 5 years and have 2 kids – Henry (2) and Colette (3 months).
What’s your favorite thing about living in Colorado?
I love the ability to be outside nearly 12 months a year.
Favorite activity to do outside the gym?
I love to ski.
How do you make time for CrossFit in your weekly schedule? What’s helped you stay committed?
With kids and work, it’s hard. I consistently go to the 5:30am class because it’s before the kids get up. That way I can workout and still help get everyone ready for daycare.
What motivates you to keep coming back to 5280 CrossFit?
Simple. I feel better after I workout.
What’s your favorite workout (WOD) or movement?
Probably pull-ups… really any body weight movement.
What is one CrossFit goal you are currently working on?
Double-unders have been my nemesis for a long time…
What’s your favorite workout song?
Anything with a beat!

At a baby shower I attended for a CrossFit gym owner, they guys all did a little WOD with a 30 lb med ball around our belly. It started with a row and I fell off… 🙂
What advice do you have for someone thinking about starting CrossFit?
Don’t judge a book by its cover. I started because a friend opened a gym and I wanted to support him. I’ve absolutely been hooked since.
Tell us something most 5280 CrossFit members don’t know about you.
Randomly (I always use this in the game, “two truths and a lie”), I was once a part of a halftime trampoline dunking act in the NBA… true story.
