How old are you?

When did you begin doing CrossFit?
Last February 2018

How long have you been with 5280 CrossFit?
Approximately 1 year

Why do you CrossFit?
My goal was to get back my body & health. I liked the idea of a group class & knew I needed to do more strength training for my bones and metabolism.

Are you married, single, in a relationship? Do you have any children (“furry” children included)?
I have been married for 34 years and have three grown human children, 1 dog, 1 cat & 5 horses.

What is your favorite activity to do outside the gym?
I like to go to musicals, museums, lectures, but horseback riding is my favorite!

How do you make time for CrossFit in your weekly schedule? What’s helped you stay committed?
For years I ignored the regimen of a daily work out (kids came first, family activities—there was always an excuse to miss a work-out). I finally decided that I was just as important as these other things and that I desperately needed and deserved to be healthy again. I make an appointment with myself each day now & come to cross fit.

How has 5280 made your life better?
I feel better—stronger & more fit. My clothes fit better. I feel rejuvenated after my workouts. I am happier. I have made lots of new friends at cross fit & we encourage each other.

What is one CrossFit goal you are currently working on?
Double-unders—I really want to get to 10 in a row.

Share one CrossFit story… (funny, cool, inspiring, etc)
My daughter, Rebecca, is seeing Freeborn & happened to be there when I was working out. She came into the gym to say hello and told me later that I was really killing it! It made me happy that my daughter was proud of me.

What advice do you have for someone thinking about starting CrossFit?
Come to our gym! You will love the supportive, encouraging group environment. All ages & fitness levels are welcome. Start with a few days per week to build fitness & establish a routine of exercise & then add days. I strive for 5-6 days per week now.

Tell us something most 5280 CrossFit members don’t know about you.
I ran college track (400M-800M) at the University of Wisconsin—Madison.
